Policies & Usage Agreement

General Policies
 
  Administration and use of the TLtC Webzine & Online
Forum fall under the guidelines and policies set by
The Regents of the University of California (The Regents)
as stated in the University of California Electronic
Communications Policy dated 17 November 2000
(
www.ucop.edu/ucophome/policies/ec/). Use of the
TLtC Webzine & Online Forum is entirely voluntary
and constitutes acceptance of the foregoing, as
well as the following, terms.
   
Registration
   
  Certain interactive areas of the TLtC website are restricted to UC faculty, staff, and students, and require registration to the website. After successfully registering to the TLtC website from a verifiable UC IP address, UC faculty, staff, and students can access these restricted areas from any computer by submitting login information to the TLtC website.

As a registered user, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account information and are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your password or account. You agree to notify the TLtC immediately of any unauthorized use of your password or account.

   
Privacy
   
  We take seriously the issue of privacy and have taken careful measures to secure the information that you submit to the TLtC Webzine & Online Forum.

As a registered user, you may "opt out" of making your personal contact information public on the TLtC Webzine & Online Forum, and, in such a case, this information will not be distributed beyond UC without your explicit permission. The TLtC may use this personal contact information to contact you about the services in which you express an interest or to notify you about changes to the Webzine & Online Forum.

The TLtC Webzine & Online Forum may employ cookies to recognize you and your access privileges on the website. Although you can set your browser to not accept cookies, this action may cause certain functions of the site to work less effectively.

The TLtC uses IP addresses and host names to collect website statistics for administrative purposes, such as analyzing general usage and demographic trends.

Registered users have a right to revise the information they submit to the TLtC website by editing their user profile or by sending an email request to tltc@ucop.edu.

   
Restrictions on Use of Materials
   
  All content hosted by the TLtC Webzine & Online Forum is proprietary to The Regents. Linking to the TLtC website or its individual pages or articles is permitted; however, neither the website itself nor articles within the website may be reproduced, reprinted, or redistributed electronically, in hard copy, or in any other medium without prior permission of the TLtC. Modification of the materials, or use of the materials hosted by the TLtC Webzine & Online Forum for any purpose other than individual, noncommercial use, is a violation of the The Regents' copyright and other proprietary rights.

How To Obtain Permission
You may obtain permission to reprint or distribute materials by sending an email request to
tltc@ucop.edu.

Please include the title of the article or web page, the URL (Web address), and how you plan to use the materials.

   
Submitting Content
   
  The TLtC welcomes the submission of articles, suggested resources, and URLs but reserves the right to decide which materials are appropriate for posting to the TLtC Webzine & Online Forum. Submissions should be sent by email to the Managing Editor at: tltc@ucop.edu.
   
Endorsements
   
  External references or pointers contained within the TLtC Webzine & Online Forum shall not imply University endorsement of the products or services of that entity.
